Messages From An Unknown Chinese Mother Recommendation
I have been inhaling various medias as I learn more about my biological heritage and adoption journey.
Its a good book in the way that it is well written, answers questions (sort of) and gives voice to those without one. However, awful in the way of the stories and topics hitting like a truck.
I have never had a book impact me as hard as this one has. It has been over three months because I would read a chapter, walk away for two weeks, read another chapter and repeat.
This book has made me think about my own beginning and life stories. Reading it has answered some questions that I have had all my life and created new ones, too. I have learned more about myself and biological culture in the stories told across these pages.
Given these caveats, I do recommend this book but with good support, patience, time and self care.
